My professional career in aviation starts in 1999 when I was appointed as the Dangerous Goods Inspector at the Department of Civil Aviation of Sri Lanka. On the conversion of the Department to the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, I was appointed to the post of Assistant Ground Operations Inspector and promoted to the Ground Operations Inspector in 2007. I was appointed to the post of Deputy Director (Special Projects) in 2013 and served to the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka in that capacity till I join Qatar Civil Aviation Authority in July 2014. As such, with working in a multi-national environment I gathered expertise in adopting best practices and management strategies to ensure safe, secure, efficient and regular commercial air transport services with accountability.My skills are not limited to the flight/ ground operations and dangerous goods but have extended to project management , human resource management, civil aviation administration and systems, ICAO/EASA regulatory systems, responsibilities and functions of the Civil Aviation Authority, With the technical skills and experience that I have acquired by internationally accredited organizations through diverse training and development programmes and working at the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka and at the Civil Aviation Authority of the State of Qatar exceeding 20 years, I am confident in:- implementation of ICAO SARPS in relation to Annex 6 and Annex 18- conduct of inspections on Flight Operations, Ground Handling and Dangerous Goods to ensure regulatory compliance- conduct safety audits on operators on Flight Operations and Dangerous Goods - performing duties as a member of the Aircraft Investigation Board - conduct training programmes on the subject of Dangerous Goods -
