Research Field:1. Target protein construction and Protein expression and purification in E. Coli and mammalian system. 2.1 Structure and function study of TRP Cation Channels: Polycystin complexes, made of transient receptor potential channel polycystin subfamily proteins (TRPP) and polycystic kidney disease (PKD) proteins, play key roles in coupling extracellular stimuli with intracellular Ca2+ signals. Our research results demonstrate a crucial role of these functionally underexplored extracellular loops in the assembly and function of the polycystin complexes.2.2 Otopetrin (Otop) proteins are found to function as proton channels and Otop1 has been shown to be involved in sour taste in mammals. Our results sheds light on the molecular mechanism of the structure and function of this new ion channel family.3.Structure and kinetics of formation of protein amyloid fibers, neuron and non-neuronal cells response in Alzheimer's Disease. We made a construction of an isothermal transformation diagram (ITD), reporting aggregation properties of many diseases’ relevant proteins with TEM, AFM, SEM and confocal imaging. 4.The mechanism study of cellulose and pectin degradation-cellulase and pectinase and microbial fermentation for enzyme production as an undergraduate student in the State Key Lab of Microbial Technology at Shandong University.
