In this role, my main responsibilities have been to design and develop Healthcare Web app, mobile app and the backend to automate clinic management and chronic disease management processes. It has been designed to provide rapid customization by the use of templates for questionnaires and work flows that can be created and modified by the user. The product also has large set of reports and analytics that automates financial reporting and helps achieve operational efficiency in running a clinic. The product is developed using C#, .NET, MVC, ASP .NET, Entity Framework, JavaScript, SQL Server, Java, SOAP/REST API. It is integrated with host of web services to provide functionality such image storage and viewer, email/SMS notifications, payment gateways. My other key contributions has been in evaluating Healthcare startup landscape for identifying new potentials, digital marketing, Google Analytics, exploring partnership opportunities, preparing solution based customizations proposals, investigating / prototyping IoT based Healthcare device integration, Healthcare Analytics, deploying on cloud.

I took a sabbatical to work on personal projects and to take care of some family matters that needed my full time involvement. I also used this time to learn technologies in the area of Cloud computing, Machine learning, Mobile application development and Big Data Analytics through self-training and by doing small projects to get hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, HDInsight, Python, Hadoop, HBase, Hive/Pig, MapReduce, and R language. Also developed working knowledge with Java development and testing stack, QTP, Selenium and SOASTA.

For major part, I had been in the Test Manager role and on the average led a team of 25 engineers / team leads and several vendors working through several releases of Microsoft products as follows:• Hyper-V replication to Microsoft Azure (Cloud)• Hyper-V replica for Windows 8 (Version 1.0 product) and Windows 8.1• Virtual PC 7 and XP Mode for Windows 7 (Version 1.0 product)• Virtual PC 2007, Virtual Server 2005• Windows Vista (4 sub-teams: Application Compatibility, Stress testing, Windows Testing and Technologies Development team, Windows Componentization Platform Test team)• Windows Data Protection Manager (File System Backup and Replication) (Version 1.0 product)Responsibilities included on-time and quality delivery of test plan, test specifications, test processes, test architecture, test framework, lab infrastructure, automated test code and testing for feature areas that I owned and successfully shipping the product. It has been a great product development experience working with architects, program managers, developers and test engineers at Microsoft and being part of a distributed team developing a Microsoft server product from scratch.I had been in IC (Individual contributor) role for little over 1.5 years being completely hands-on designing and developing test automation for several of features for Hyper-V replication to Cloud (Microsoft Azure). I also owned and did Stress/Reliability and Performance testing. I gained hands-on skills in various technologies including Microsoft Azure, C++/C#/.NET, COM, XML, WCF service communication, REST API, Web Services, Windows service architecture. Contributed significantly to architecture, design and development of data driven test automation framework and infrastructure that maximizes reuse of test code and enables rapid test automation. Been hands-on designing and coding to automate test libraries, test cases and test tools using C++, C#, .NET, XML. Built the team of 25+ engineers 3 times ground up.

As Vice President (Engineering), managed development, testing, documentation and systems administration teams at Elind. I had a team of 40+ software engineers. Responsibilities included on-time and quality delivery of brokerage and stock exchange products, building world class engineering organization, setting up and implementation of software development processes, hiring, training, raising core competency and productivity of the teams as well as ensuring operational efficiency of the engineering team.

As General Manager (Projects), managed multiple projects for our US clients Embarcadero Technologies, Viador, Capstan, Apexon and Microsoft and a team of 50+ software engineers. Responsibilities included requirements analysis, solution architecture, design and development, software project management, people management, and resource management, providing timely and superior quality deliverables to the client and working closely with the client to fulfill project requirements. Also participated in development and improvement of engineering processes, streamlining of operations, giving direction in key success areas, formulating business plans and growing the customer account. Had hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, and Microsoft SQL Server.

As a senior manager, participated in strategic planning and development of Enterprise Portal (EP) product. Participated in the overall architecture and feature development and testing of EP and specifically systems management component of EP and Sybase Adaptive (SQL) Server. This involved working with engineering, product management, marketing, and vendors and made several presentations on EP systems management. Contributed to defining and implementing business and product strategy for products and tools. Worked with other senior management staff to formulate group-wide strategies, identifying alternatives as necessary and appropriate. Demonstrated skill in formulating strategies, technology roadmaps and programs for Sybase systems management tools. Demonstrated high proficiency in managing and mentoring various, cross-functional teams. Provided technical leadership in the areas of requirements management, architecture, design, development, testing and implementation. Managed remote engineers in UK. Negotiated, hired, contracted and supervised a large software development project outsourced to a software development company in Kazakhstan.

As a development engineering manager for “Systems Management, Monitoring and Diagnostics for Sybase Adaptive (SQL) Server” group in Sybase, managed 12 engineers and completed 7 projects. Built a highly motivated team of 12 engineers. Been on a fast learning curve and have gained very rich management and technical leadership experience during this period. Some of my strengths that have helped me in simultaneously managing several projects are: excellent coaching skills, broad technical knowledge, ability to make job challenging and interesting for my direct reports, good analytical and problem solving skills, result-oriented, excellent track record of delivery against goals, quick resolution of issues, ability to get involved in technical discussions and provide technical solutions.Was responsible for planning and execution of a large software development project in partnership with another company which entailed hiring, providing technical leadership and product architecture direction. Demonstrated skills in coaching and building highly motivated team of engineers, retaining engineers thru’ difficult times, organizing and conducting productive meetings and efficient handling of inter-department co-ordination.

As a project lead, worked on development of Task Scheduler, Extended Stored Procedure, and MAPI/Performance Monitor integration features using Java, C and SQL. Performed competitive analysis of DBMS offerings from major database vendors, researched and prototyped several features, learnt database internals and were involved in several strategic and architectural discussions. Did project management of several software development projects and implemented strategies for meeting tough milestones.

As a member of Sybase SQL Server product development team, worked on feature development and porting of Sybase SQL Server to Windows NT using C and Sybase Open client/Open server. Designed and coded features to tightly integrate SQL Server with Windows. Worked with feature development in Compile & execute, DBCC, Security modules of SQL Server code. Worked on design and implementation of installer using C++ and MFC. Did competitive analysis of database features and wrote parts of Marketing Requirements Document. Provided primary interface to Technical Support, Configuration Management departments for various releases of SQL Server on Windows NT.

As a member of Excelerator II development team, designed and developed software using Object-Oriented techniques, Smalltalk, C and Microsoft SQL Server under OS/2. Excelerator II provides a set of CASE tools for planning, analysis and design of MIS applications. Used Booch OOD and responsibility-driven design methodologies to analyze and design several modules of the software. Was key contributor to the conceptual and detail design of high performance C-implementation of ER interface to the Intersolv LAN Repository.

As a consultant to IBM, Cary, NC was involved in the development, enhancement and maintenance of Executive Decisions product in IBM OS/2 multithreading environment using OS/2, Presentation Manager, EHLLAPI, SRPI and C. This system provides the executives access to business information and external news source. The information is presented to the executive on the workstation, which is connected to the mainframe in a co-operative processing mode. Was involved in the development of Main Driver, Server, Reports and News, PC Warehouse and Mail modules of the product. Provided technical leadership and guidance to other technical staff on the project.
