I was running science and engineering teams across multiple sites, in Google workspace.My teams were responsible for user-intent understanding, search quality, metrics and search experience for search on all apps in Google's workplace - GMail, drive, calendar, chat, meet - to name a few. Features owned by my org are used by Billions of users every day across consumer and enterprise, on every possible device type, in 70+ languages and 100+ countries across the globe. Under my leadership, the org has delivered several improvements in search capabilities in Google workplace apps - with wide press coverage and huge adoption. ________________________ Prior to that, I ran Ads optimization teams. My team of AI researchers, applied scientists and ML engineers was responsible for ads optimization for allAds running on Google Search, Youtube and Display. My team owned systems which processed $100+ Billion of budgets annually and are the most revenue critical systems at Google.Core areas of responsibility included - a) Real-time budget management, spend prediction and pacing to help advertisers maximize value over a host of ad-networks. These systems process many millions of Ad campaigns every day, and play a central role in making, keeping Google a leader in delivering advertiser ROI and satisfaction in digital Ads. b) Monetization platform for all Ads running on Google search. These systems are responsible for generating advertiser invoices and are some of the largest revenue processing systems in the world. These were extremely critical for tax compliance, financial reporting and auditing compliance for more than 2/3rd of Google's revenue.Under my leadership, the team delivered innovative budget management options, significantly improved ad-spend optimization and re-architected the systems to launch many new campaign-budget types. In total, my teams delivered several points of increase in Google's Search Ads revenue.

I built and ran high-performing teams which tackled challenging problems of searching over billions of entities and trillions of connections using cutting edge research in AI, NLP and Information retrieval. My teams ran AI systems which handled 500M+ queries/day and drove a significant chunk of engagements on businesses and communities in Facebook. Some of the challenging problems were user intent understanding, extracting meaningful relationships and information from entities (pages, groups, events etc.) using advanced graph analysis, natural language processing and AI.

Bing Ads is the second largest Search monetization engine after Google Ads. I led the design and delivery of multi-stream weighted retrieval system for Bing Ads. This, along with other efforts I led, resulted in significantly improved performance on tail queries which are considered hardest to monetize. These efforts resulted in many points of increase in Ads revenue.

Windows HSBS team is responsible for design and delivery of Windows Server in Home and Small Business SKUs, which is a significant revenue stream for Windows Server. I led the team which was responsible for delivering backup solutions in noisy home/small business networks on low-end consumer grade hardware. Delivered strong results leading to double digit growth in market share and user trust.

Windows OneCare was Microsoft’s home device and network management service including firewall, Antivirus, backup amongst other services. I was a key contributor in network management services. This includes LAN communication, remote management and infrastructure components. These enabled features like Printer sharing, centralized backup.Also redesigned key horizontal components like policy storage to improve service performance.

MSN reporting team is responsible for generation and delivery of reports which identify opportunities in Microsoft products based on customer support requests. I owned end-to-end deployment of the distributed, high scalable service.

Collaborated with researchers and other interns to design and deliver a working prototype of a new distributed fault tolerant routing algorithm. It was a key component needed for improving robustness of control networks inside robots.
