Every day is a new learning experience while i service the largest institutional banking portfolio in terms of client volume. As i come with previous Operations background, being in client services gives me an edge to understand this side of the business along with a view into the relationship side of the business. This way i must say the entire experience has been rewarding to gain a holistic view of banking.

As part of the sales team for one the biggest US based engineering companies, it was a good experience to understand the beautiful integration of sales, accounting, engineering and warehousing works. While my husband was studying supply chain, i went through the syllabus purely for academic interest and here i could relate to that knowledge acquired. Updating the sales invoices on the system, liaising with product managers, product specialists, sales managers and the warehouse to check on lead time, deliveries, pricing discrepancies, meeting cut offs and targets were all part of the role which was very rewarding as i had the opportunity to also view product testing before dispatching.

Servicing retail debt portfolio of individuals with financial obligations to Pioneer Credit. Locate customers whose details are out of date using a variety of online databases and tools. Gained resilience and tenacity over a period of time to find solutions and overcome obstacles. With genuine empathy and an interest in working partnership with customers. Great negotiating skills for payment or settlement plans to help finalize the customer’s accounts and progress toward financial recovery. Can work calmly in a challenging and rewarding target driven environment.

I was working in an outbound call center for the first time. It took some time for me to get adjusted to the new environment and working style. Capsola was different from the inbound call center in LogicaCMG where vendors called or emailed regarding payment status. I had to work on getting relevant approvals at the earliest and ensure payments are made in order to achieve vendor satisfaction for which I was awarded in June 2005. AT Capsola, I had to sell a renewable energy product like solar to either individuals [B2C] or corporates [B2B] which was different from what I have done so far. It was a good learning experience because it enhanced my cold calling skills, making conversation with strangers, along with improving customer services skills and gained knowledge on the sales system used in Australia called CRM. This experience also taught me how to improve my business development skills by looking at archives and generating business from existing customer database and increasing cross sell and up sell strategy by offering renewable energy induced batteries among others. I also was able to perform survey calls and gain feedback from our customers which helped in making us a better organization.

This has been one of the most exciting phases in my career as I have been with ANZ for 9 Years. As part of the pilot team I travelled to Singapore within a month of joining to transition the FDE process. This laid the foundation of extracting the financial statements & preparing ratios, which formed the basis for the customer’s credit assessment performed by RMs’ and helps in obtaining risk and credit approvals. In 2011, I had another opportunity to travel to Singapore and transition the credit admin activities. This process increased my knowledge in institutional lending, team management, people & stakeholder management, risk & compliance and dealing with treasury on a daily basis. I was recognized by the CEO of ANZ Banking Group Singapore for Outstanding Performance and demonstration of ANZ values in 2013. In 2015 I moved into a new role as the Operations Lead which helped me hone my training skills across the department for various regions like Asia Pacific, Greater Mekong, UK, US and New Zealand. I conducted process and non-process training, for new and existing staff. I was also given an opportunity of working on all the new projects and transitions based on PMP methodology. While working on these projects I was involved in cloud-based projects and analysing the risk involved which was an interesting project. I then moved into the MI and finance which was a totally different stream and that was the most rewarding part. Overcoming the initial challenges in the training phase, I was able to perform the activities and my manager was ecstatic with my phenomenal growth in that year. This last year laid the foundation for the MI reporting in my career. Extensive usage of tools like Qlikview, Excel, PPT led me to explore avenues in IT and analysis. This led me to enhance my skills by learning Power BI and Tableau which help in reporting functions. Overall a very satisfying experience.

As a finance associate for the accounts receivable team working for Symphony's third party client CAPCO, I worked closely with my manager dealing with regions in Belgium, France, Germany and UK. It laid the foundation for the knowledge gained on the PeopleSoft tool. With minimum training I was able to work independently and perform all the functions at ease within the set deadlines like time based invoicing, reconciliation of time sheets between a system called Novient and PeopleSoft to ensure all discrepancies were accounted for. Ensuring quality control for all activities performed. Was also part of the testing of the automation tool which helped create invoices which were sent for sign off. These 10 months set off the continuation of my Logica days in finance field.

6 months in the accounts payable team where I worked in all streams like the call center, purchase order or invoice data entry, creating customer profiles, quality check laid the foundation for the finance stream in my career. I was also recognized for outstanding performance in the AP helpdesk team in June 2005 and was awarded the Customer Relationship Management Award. 1.5 years in accounts receivable taught me a-lot right from invoice data entry, managing high volumes in both AP and AR, bank recons, passing rectifications entries, contra entries or billing transfers. I spearheaded the e-invoicing for 2 major clients and created the process documents for them too. Performing various reports on daily, weekly and monthly basis gave me insight into the accounting and finance world. I was also part of the HR invoicing automation tool which reduced the work time drastically between manual and automation methods of working. Two years flew by very quickly.

I was part of the projects conducted on our system to improve efficiency and TAT when compared to our then competitors Reuters and Bloomberg. These projects were conducted to find out the time taken for the documents to flow through our system once they were uploaded by various clients on the SEC. This was where I discovered I had a flair for presentations and public speaking. Over a period of time I have improved in my oratory skills too. Played an integral part in the US call center transition.
