Riwayat is founded with a vision to capture various Folk Forms of our country and create a stage for Celebrating Richness of Indian Diverse Culture, Conserving its History and Encouraging the Future Artists for Sustainability. Initial research does show that many of the folk forms, instruments would become extinct, if not revived and also many great artists still need to get their due in spite of their exclusivity with different art forms. We envision Riwayat to be a bridge between old and new, cherish the existing art forms and create legacies. 1st edition of Riwayat Folk Festival (28th July, 2019 at Delhi; details at http://riwayat.co.in) is structured in an innovative, interesting and engaging manner : Dastangoi (Mahmood Farooqui, Darain Shahidi), Panel Discussion (Naghma Sahar, Swanand Kirkire, Manoj Muntashir), and Musical Evening (Mame Khan Manganiar).
