Dr. Bing Xia obtained Ph.D. degree from Nanjing University on 2006. During 2007-2009, he did postdoctoral researches in Professor Ferrari Mauro’s group at Houston Healthcare Center of University of Texas. From 2009, I was appointed as professor in Nanjing Forestry University and founded “Nano-Cell Engineering (NCE) Lab” to carry out independent researches. Recently, his researches focused on the biomedical applications of porous silicon nanoparticles. He had finished the projects, as followed (1) the photoluminescence modulation of porous silicon nanoparticles for the detection of intracellular copper ions; (2) stealth porous silicon nanocomposites for efficiently drug delivery; (3) porous silicon nanoparticles with near infrared fluorescence for in vivo imaging and drug delivery; (4) photothermal porous silicon nanocomposites for combined chemo-photothermal cancer therapy; (5) biodegradable and injectable porous silicon-based nanocomposite hydrogels for local cancer therapy; and (6) magnetic porous silicon nanocomposites for multi-modal tumor imaging and combinatorial cancer therapy. He published more than 30 papers including Acta Biomaterialia, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Advanced Materials Interfaces, Journal of Materials Chemistry B, Analyst, et al., and obtained 2 patents authorizations. In addition, his researches were successively supported by National Science Foundation of China, National Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province, International Cooperation Project of Ministry of Science and Technology of China et al.
