The core activities can be summarized: • Investigate the energy consumption and environment impact of the casting process through life cycle assessment• Use lean management tools to assess the performance of the new casting process• Cost estimation of the manufacturing production

I organised an industry internship myself back to 2008. I spent one year in Japan and worked as mechanical design engineer at a manufacturing company called FUKUI BYORA. My duty includes rivet setter design. Such job requires 3D modelling and FEA structure analysis of existing machine. Designing the new machine based on the analysis results. Then build the prototype and test it. Solidworks and Autocad were heavily used in this project. Understanding engineering drawing and using GD&T have been developed.
