Bipasha is an economist with a focus on climate change related economic issues. She is the Director of Climate Finance at Confluence Philanthropy. She works with Confluence Philanthropy members on building consensus and understanding on climate solutions that require mobilization of capital from mission-related and impact investors. In her previous role as the Global Head of Partnerships at Climate Bonds Initiative, Bipasha worked with investors and financial institutions to navigate, influence and instigate change. Climate Bonds Initiative is an international standard setting organization that mobilizes global capital for climate action through the development of the Climate Bonds Standard and Certification Scheme, Climate Bonds' labelled debt assessment tools, Policy Engagement and Market Intelligence work. Bipasha is also an academic program advisor and adjunct professor teaching Environmental Economics at Hunter College, City University of New York. In addition, she has experience in executive training on environmental policy and regulation and sustainable agriculture policy at the Earth Institute, Columbia University.Bipasha has more than two decades of experience in working on a wide range of environmental and climate change issues. She was a senior economist at Ricardo Energy (formerly known as AEA), leading projects especially in the areas of climate change mitigation action, clean development mechanism reform (CDM), Green House Gas inventory systems, renewable energy related research and advisory work in the UK. Her main clients were the UK Government (FCO, DFID, DECC, DEFRA), Grantham Institute of Climate Change, UK and the European Commission. Bipasha has prior work experience with the Food and Agricultural Organization/United Nations, Rome where she worked on developing a vulnerability assessment tool for communities exposed to weather hazards. She also worked as a governance reform consultant for KPMG Consulting, London. Her main clients at KPMG were Department for International Development (DFID), UK. Bipasha has an M.Phil degree in Development Economics from the University of Cambridge, UK and a Master’s degree in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics, UK.Bipasha has lived in many countries including the UK, USA, Italy, Thailand, and India. After living in the UK for nearly 15 years, Bipasha moved to the US in 2009 and since then she is enjoying a New York life with her twin children and husband.
