To lead the team in providing specialist expertise and a technical programme and project delivery service for the management of the Arboriculture, Landscape, Biodiversity and Volunteers to assist in the achievement of great parks and open spaces so that "Auckland is the most liveable city in the world".Work with Iwi to create Co-management opportunities for management of Parks and reserves containing natural, spiritual and cultural heritage values. Assist with the creation and implementation of Community Programmes and the management of customer and user groups enquiries in relation to associated park services.Promote the delivery of free Park Education programmes and Recreational Programmes under the banner of "Out and About" across the Auckland region.

To lead the team in providing specialist expertise and a technical advisory service for the management of the specific Parks Assets, production and implementation of relevant Capital and Operational work programmes for these Assets, creation and implementation of Community Programmes and the management of customer and user groups enquiries in relation to associated park services.The southern sector team also delivers Park Education programmes and Recreational Programmes under the banner of "Out and About"

1.Lead park rangers and other operations staff to deliver responsive and cost-effective heritage services to park users and citizens and effective stewardship of natural and cultural resources.•Deliver natural heritage conservation on reserves, including plant and animal pest control, revegetation, and ecological health monitoring.•Deliver cultural heritage conservation on reserves, including archaeology and built heritage, and maintaining strong relationships with mana whenua.•Deliver customer service relating to amenity tree and garden horticultural maintenance within parks, civic areas and the city’s streetscape.•Deliver and support school and public environmental education and visitor information services•Coordinate and support, primarily environmental, volunteers on reserves2.Coordinate with other sections to support:•Capital development of heritage and horticultural resources•Maintenance operations of heritage and horticultural resources; and•Recreation operations relating to reserves, sports parks, and programs•Public and asset safety and security services, including education and enforcement of park by-laws.5.Manage within defined budgets, agreed objectives, and Council policies and processes, and in accordance with Council by-laws, District Plan, the Reserves Act 1977 and other relevant legislation.6. Organise training for operations staff - bylaw enforcement, customer service, historic place management, dog control, personal safety.
