After spending 3 years as CIO for Nomura’s India based strategic delivery centre servicing the Global Markets (Wholesale) business, he returned to London and joined Lloyds Bank as CIO for Commercial Banking (Markets and Transaction Banking). At Lloyds he worked closely with the business leadership team on the digital transformation agenda for the Commercial Bank. Most recently he led an IT Transformation programme focused on simplifying the architecture and optimising the cost of technology at Close Brothers as CIO for the Banking division.Birendra is passionate about Innovation and Fintech and is a Mentor at Level39 and advisor to many startups. He has been Chair of the REACH (Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage) Inclusion & Diversity network at Lloyds and at Close Brothers.
