Throughout my academic career, I have possessed this endless urge for more. Just doing one thing has never been my forte as I am always busy with something I endlessly enjoy. In primary school, that would mean sports clubs and extra maths classes. Followed up by high school, in which I engulfed myself in bilingual education, making it my mission to possess the English language at a native level. In addition to this, I took part in the debate club and its competitions, Pre-University Classes at the University of Leiden, and even Pre-University Honours College at the University of Groningen.Fast forward to my studies at University College Groningen. Impressed by the amazing courses offered, I participated in many extra courses besides the set curriculum. This led to a +20 ECTS in my first year, +10 ECTS in the second year, and +5 ECTS in my third year. Even with these additional courses, I have held an excellent grade point average of 3.7. However, as mentioned above, I do not like sitting still; therefore, I have taken part in many extracurricular activities. In my first year, I was part of two committees within the Study Association of the faculty of University College Groningen; Caerus, namely the Lustrum committee, and the Intro Week committee. In my second year, I wanted a step up and became the president of the Caerus Board. This board year was a tremendously valuable experience that taught me countless lessons and was a fitting addition to my studies at University College Groningen.Currently, I have taken on the job of vice president and external affairs of the Sexual Wellness and Education Initiative (SWEI). This is a sexual education programme at the University College Groningen, where we teach an inclusive and diverse curriculum of all the good, the bad, and the necessary that encompasses sexual wellness. In addition to the work at UCG, I took part in VentureLab North, a start-up development program to work on SWEI and its future. As a team, we are very ambitious and are working towards becoming an integrated part of student wellbeing at the university.Furthermore, after my valuable years of self-exploration and development at UCG, I have found a career worth pursuing. For this reason, I have started a second bachelor's degree in psychology. This will be the starting point of a longer studying career leading to the final specialisation of sexology. In the end, using my expertise for SWEI is a great ambition of mine.
