I believe in change for justice, social development and everybody's rights and want to be instrumental in achieving it. Therefore, I worked always in countries where I thought I can make a difference with the little a person can do within the great teams I was priviliged to enjoy in all duty stations of the UN. Multilateralism for me is not only the big global political environment, but its expression in the individual experience of UN work. I was mostly directly involved in the promotion and defence of human rights over the last 25 years, but come from an academic background as a philosopher with great respect for what history tells us and not ready to lose hope and optimism for the future.
