For more than 20 years I have worked in AML Services in Luxembourg. I have now taken on the role of PwC Luxembourg AML Services Leader. I have been delivering AML Fund Long Form engagements since 2002 and it is the foundational knowledge that to this day helps me provide AML Consulting Services as well as AML Audit Services to my clients. I help my clients understand AML, staying compliant in a rapidly changing world, transforming AML compliance to fit today's markets by being effective and efficient and agile or remediate the past and preparing for the future. I am specialized in hot topics list AML on Assets, AML in Distribution to help my clients stay on top of things. Since 2001, I have also worked on Internal Controls Reports (ISAE 3000/3402) Reports and governance projects. I have specialized in business processes, really knowing what the processes and the jobs of my clients, outside of AML. I work with Investment Fund s and their Managers, Transfer Agents, Fund Accountants, Depositaries, Custodians, and PSF daily. Today I am the PwC Luxembourg AML Services Leader. With my colleagues we support our clients from all Industries in the Area of AML (Banking, Insurance, Crypto etc.). I myself am specialized Asset and Wealth Management and Alternatives, including Real Estate, Private Equity, Infrastructure and Debt. We have developed digitalized tools for Asset Scoring (UCITS and Alternatives,) and Business Wide Risk Assessment as well as delegate oversight (distribution, Transfer Agency, Portfolio Managers) to help digitalization and more effective use of resource's. Together with my colleagues from Global Fund Distribution- distribution is another focus area. In the area of general internal controls, Internal Audit and AML compliance and governance, I also provide services that give formal comfort tailored to the stakeholders’ needs. The ability to “wrap” assurance around almost any subject matter is my and my team’s primary skill and competence.

Upon my return from PwC Canada, I was promoted to Director. As a director I took over the role as Lead Director both the AML Services Practice, focusing on Asset and Wealth Management and the Performance Assurance Practice focused on providing third party assurance following the standards SAS 70/ISAE 3402 / ISAE 3000. In this role I expanded the PwC Service Offering by providing Distribution Due Diligence Services in the AML space, helping my clients to compare the local country AML/CTF laws and regulations to Luxembourg applicable laws and regulations and providing on-site visits to distributors around the world. I also started to implement ISAE 3000 and Agreed Upon procedures reporting on AML compliance for transfer agents. For Performance Assurance I developed the PwC skillset to other specific industries and started to provide specific internal control and governance services both to Real Estate and the Private Equity players.

Toronto, Canada Area

In June 2006 I had the opportunity to join the Risk Assurance Practice of PwC Canada in Toronto for a spell of 18-months. Their then developing internal controls reporting practice needed support to implement internal controls reporting methodology and share practical experience that I gained in the asset and wealth management industry in Luxembourg over the recent years. I was able to work on global clients that had both operations in Luxembourg and Canada. During my time in Toronto I was able to broaden my skill set to IT General Controls working on various IT focused assignments and also passed the exam of Certified Systems Information Auditor in June 2007.

I was promoted to Manager in October and essentially continued to grow in my role, further developing the AML Service Offering and the Internal Controls Service Offering. I was developing the related PwC team skillset by designing workprograms & training programs.

Luxembourg

I joined PwC as Advisory Consultant with expertise in Asset and Wealth Management focused on Transfer Agency. I quickly joined the Risk Assurance Service practice where I was a founding member of both the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Services practice & Performance Assurance Practice (mainly based on internal controls reporting following the SAS 70 Standard). I created the AML team, together with PwC partner and developed the working practices and teams over the next three years. I was also part of the creation of the SAS 70 practice, working together with a PwC US partner and director.

At Threadneedle Investments, I was involved in building the transfer agency regular savings tream. This included, design of processes, IT system user acceptance testing, training of team members and later leading that team in their daily work covering all tasks linked to investor registration/standing data maintenance and transaction processes.
