With a Masters of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.) from the prestigious USC Rossier School of Education and a law degree (J.D.) from the UCLA School of Law, Birgit Huber Willand brings a unique and practical perspective to her civil litigation practice. Since beginning her career, Ms. Willand has engaged in numerous practice areas of service to the insurance industry, including insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, pre-litigation coverage analysis, agents and brokers professional liability defense, reinsurance disputes, and insurance liquidation matters. She has represented domestic and foreign insurers in numerous insurance coverage disputes concerning various liability issues, including coverage for construction defects, CERCLA environmental actions, and a wide variety of business disputes, with an emphasis on complex and high tech business disputes. She was the lead associate in charge of the day-to-day management of a team of twelve attorneys representing the independent adjuster for a major insurer in the aftermath of the Northridge Earthquake.
