Managing a team of ‘Severity’ level claims adjusters, acting as a referral point for claims enquiry while ensuring the technical development of a market leading major loss claims handling unit. Additionally, supporting the European Line of Business (LoB) Head of Claims in the wider strategic management of the LoB claims response across the region, acting as thought leader to both internal and external stakeholders. Functional Responsibilities: - Manage the allocation of claims to the best technical expert- Provide a technical referral point for team members- Keep the (LoB) European Claims Head advised of key major loss developments and wider Severity trends. - Be a key (LoB) Severity contact for Global, Regional and Country (LoB) claims colleagues and other senior stakeholders- Management and training/development of Severity adjusters within team. - Be a key contact and escalation point for Multi-National/ Major Account/Select clients - Cascading of financial authority to team members, ensuring team empowerment is balanced against governance and management oversight- Periodic claims audit/review of in-house claims operations across the region - Identification and communication of environmental risks relevant to Severity claims segment and the wider line of business- Fully participate within the team of cross-class Severity segment claims thought leaders, differentiating AIG through technical expertise.- Maintain ‘Best Practice’ guidelines for the (LoB) Severity team
