I was born in Germany and have lived in the United States since 1989. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the Universität Berlin, Germany, and an MA in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University, Pleasant Hill, California. I have a psychotherapy practice in Loch Lomond, Lake County, California where I see individual clients and couples. I work with multiple therapeutic modalities depending on my clients' needs. I have successfully treated many problems, such as addictions, eating disorders, depression, grief, trauma, anxiety, and low self-esteem.My appreciation for the allegorical aspect of movies led me to start using the power of films as an adjunct to traditional therapeutic methods in my work with many individual clients, couples, groups, and workshops. My book, "E-Motion Picture Magic - A Movie Lover's Guide to Healing and Transformation", is frequently used by both therapists and clients. In addition, I have written many articles on the subject. Combining Cinema Therapy with other modalities, I teach graduate students and train therapists internationally through continuing education seminars and online classes.
