Birgit works with Private Clients, Non Profits and Corporate Employees. She participates in Community Wellness, and served as a director at the ICR (International Council of Reflexologists) from 2017-2021. Her work as integrative practitioner is all about slowing down, possibly restoring, possibly being present with one's body, where we can rest and digest (not just food), and maybe integrate experiences.Corporate Health Fairs (mostly through third parties). She assisted at the LV Chair Yoga Teacher Training at the Open Center and was Faculty Assistant at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health for years. She has worked with non-profits like IWD (Hospital for Joint Diseases), YCT (supporting women during and after cancer treatments), as well as moms of children with cancer (RMH). She has worked on and off with Wendy Henry's CRREW (9/11, Sandy) and has done legislative work in NY State. In 2011 Birgit was essential in materializing a series of fundraisers for STWS benefiting 9/11 First Responders in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of 9/11.Birgit's integrative care work is trauma-informed. She obtained a TCTSY certification with Center for Trauma and Embodiment in March of 2019. TCTSY stands for Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga. TCTSY is science and evidence-based (VA). Birgit has been leaning on this approach when offering reflexology in service settings and other settings and has addressed this in her final paper.
