My PhD project investigates the signaling molecule, hydrogen sulfide (H2S). I have studied how the molecule interacts with blood on a molecular level and used several animal models such as anoxia-tolerant turtles and hibernating ground squirrels to try to elucidate some of the physiological functions of H2S. The project combines knowledge within chemistry, physiology and biochemistry and includes multiple techniques and equipment within these fields.

As a part of my Ph.D. fellowship, I visited James Staples group at Western University. My project focused on hibernation in ground squirrels and the underlying biochemical mechanisms of this fascinating phenomenon.

During a short period as Research Assistant, I trained my lab techniques and academic skills.

Aarhus University

At part of the Student Guidance team, I have counseled university students in aspects such as admission, study skills, study progress and programmes, rules and regulations and well-being. I am experient in organizing information meetings for big groups of students and also individual counseling sessions. Through my work, I have gained experience in university organization, duty of confidentiality and personal development.

Ebeltoft

The job involved guided safari tours for the visitors to the park including school classes. The work has strengthened my communication skills and added to my knowledge about endangered species and wildlife management and protection.

Working with teenagers has given me the chance to improve my social skills and sense of responsibility. I also got the opportunity to join interesting courses on youth psychology and management.
