Tanzania

Completed 17-year career in the United Nations in Security management and operations as an international staff. Gained middle-level manager status and worked as head of various specialised Platoons within the Department of Security and Safety of the UNICTR. Main positions held and highlights of duties performed as the head of the following:• Special Investigations Unit: Hands-on supervision of the unit in carrying out all accident/incident investigations and review of all investigation reports prepared by investigators. Carried out security threat and risk assessments. • CCTV Unit: Hands-on supervision of the 24/7 CCTV control centre operations with over 150 cameras integrated with perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDS) ensuring the recordings and archiving of all CCTV cameras on EMC/SAN servers. • Electronic Access Control and Digital ID Unit: Ensured the efficient functioning of digital pass and identification and electronic access control systems of the organization running on the PAC SecureNet UK system. • Close Protection Unit: Ensured the protection services to the designated dignitaries and the supervision of Protection Officers under supervision. • Fire and Safety Unit: Formulated and ensured the adherence of the United Nations fire and safety guidelines and standards throughout the large premises of the organisation. • Project Manager: Implemented the perimeter access control technology (PACT) project for the standardisation and enhancement of the United Nations global integrated security management systems (ISMS), under the direction of the Department of Safety and Security of the United Nations New York HQ.• Emergency Evacuation Planning Officer – Devised a stand-alone security emergency evacuation plan for the organisation and other UN agencies located in the northern region of Tanzania with over 800 staff and two thousands family members in coordination with United Nations’ Country Security Adviser.

Tanzania

Operations and Logistics:As the Head of Court and Conference Security at UNICTR (Tanzania), ensured the overall security of the four UN trial chambers including transporting accused persons to and from the detention facility and trial chambers and presenting them before the Tribunal for hearings. Planned and devised operation orders for all movements and transfers of accused persons from one country to another. Led over 30 UN security officers and 15 Tanzania armed police forces in daily basis both in-house and on motorcade/convoys.As a Logistics and Supply Officer at UNICTR (Tanzania), established a logistics and supply system at the United Nations detention facility where over 70 accused of war crimes and genocide persons were detained.Management Skills:Led and managed over one hundred and fifty UN Security Officers, private security guards, and armed police during my tenure as Security Operations Officer at the UN and a platoon of thirty military personnel in the British Army. With a successful record for managing multicultural organisations, supervising hundreds of people through numerous line-management personnel, responsible for millions of dollars in assets and excellent customer service oriented agent.

Carried out the forwarding and delivery of UN staffs’ unaccompanied shipments and contingent owned equipment (COE) such as, APCs, vehicles, weapons, ammunition, sea containers and unaccompanied luggage of military and police personnel to their respective countries of destinations around the world. Carry out all necessary customs declaration and documentation with local government authorities’ prior dispatching consignments, including airway bills, passengers and cargo manifests. Attend to all daily schedules of two UN aircrafts, (C130 & Beach Craft) assigned to the mission.

Completed 13-year career with the British Army as an elite Ghurkha. Specialised mainly in signal and electronic communications with infantry skills. Participated in several major military exercises including the NATO’s Lion’s Heart in Germany. Gained middle-level manager status and retired with an exemplary pensionable service.
