CurrentIn radio, television and all forms of new media, Bishop Robert Reed sees unlimited possibilities for sharing the wealth of the Catholic Faith. With a passion for television that began early in life, Bishop Reed instinctively understands the power of today’s technology to engage people in the life of the Church. One of the great joys of his work has been the opportunity to combine his vocation as a priest and bishop with using media to reach out and connect with people of all ages and in all parts of the country.Bishop Reed is as comfortable on the air as he is behind the scenes. He hosts a game show and reality series, co-hosts “This is the Day,” the network’s nationally syndicated talk show, and prays the Rosary from different places around the world. He is one of the network’s 19 on-air figures, a group that includes Cardinal Seán O’Malley, who hosts a weekly 30-minute series called “Conversations with Cardinal Seán.”For over 60 years, The CatholicTV Network has existed to serve Catholics, and is known affectionately by its viewers as "the parish of the airwaves". The Network is nationally available, and also serves as a platform for dioceses across the country, through strong diocesan partnerships. This results in a robust media representation of the Church in America, through which the faithful in San Antonio, Texas can witness a discussion with Cardinal Timothy Dolan in New York, and the faithful in Michigan can watch a Sunday Mass from San Antonio. “My greatest dream for The CatholicTV Network is that it be an effective and powerful national platform for the many dioceses, campuses, parishes, families and individuals that make up the fabric of the Catholic Church in this nation. We are known as America's Catholic Television Network®, and I would like to see us fulfill that expression more fully and faithfully."
