I am a social entrepreneur and co-founder of Silaiwali.Silaiwali is a social enterprise that upcycles waste fabric generated by the garment manufacturing industry to make decorative products and accessories handcrafted by Afghan women refugees currently based in New Delhi, India.Previously, I was a Graphic Designer, Photographer and Writer-Editor. I worked in the News Media for 25 years as a visual journalist, launching and re-launching major magazines and newspapers in India. I am among the founding members of Outlook, Asia’s most influential weekly news magazine, in 1995 and served as an Executive Editor till 2016. I was the creative chief of all other magazines of the Outlook group, from travel to personal finance. I am best known for designing magazine covers – I have designed close to 1500 published magazine covers across genres. Brigitte Singh: Printress of the Mughal Garden, is my maiden venture as an Editor of an illustrated book — I curated the content, photographed and designed the book. I have designed many illustrated books and have lectured frequently on design and visual story-telling at IITs and other universities in India.I travel widely, photographing independent and commissioned projects alike. I am an advanced Hatha Yoga practitioner for the past 20 years.
