Passionate Business Communication Educator | Mixed Methods Social Scientist | Disaster Recovery Researcher | Mental Health AdvocateI am an energetic and compassionate business communication educator who specializes in building arguments and helping anxious students through the job market. With mental health crises in higher education, I believe my job as an educator is to create safe spaces for growth. To do this, my teaching philosophy values transparency, cultivates comfort, and reduces uncertainty. I participate in extensive instructional development to support students' diverse needs.My research expertise revolves around social networks. I use social network analysis to study the relationships within individuals' social networks and am productive and collaborative in my own social networks. I specialize in attitudinal and behavioral research and use multiple and mixed research methods to study organizational and interpersonal communication, with emphases on natural disasters, resilience, uncertainty, and workplaces.I look for opportunities where I can use my expertise and grow as a scholar and practitioner, while helping others achieve their personal, academic, and professional goals.
