Assist Maintenance Mechanic in repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing and electrical systems of establishment by assisting the maintenance mechanics perform the following duties.Observe and listen to operating machines/equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair. Study blueprints, schematics, sketches, machine parts, and specifications to determine type, model, and dimensions of parts required.Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference [points on metal stock surfaces, to cut and fabricate.Dismantle machine or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove and replace defective parts.Fabricate, weld, and reproduce parts from various kinds of metal stock and electrical parts. Assemble and test operate machines to verify correction of malfunctionSet up machines for operation.Adjust machines to production specifications.Trouble shoot and repair machinery; mechanically and electrically.Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment. Communicate to operators regarding equipment issues. Maintain and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment. Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components of equipment. Connect wires to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replace switches and fuses, splice wire insulate wire with friction tape. Frequently stay after end of shift to assist with equipment. Maintain work area, keep in neat and orderly at all times.Meet productivity standards.Follow all safety rules and regulations.Use computer skills for creating work orders, data entry, check out parts in maintenance program.Easily crawls, climbs, and works in high places as well as in odd positions in order to maintain equipment.Reports all food and safety and quality issues to supervisors.
