As part of my engagements through BECAN, I joined SMG Capital as interim and Part time CEO. SMG Capital was the first and only certified equity crowd funding platform in Denmark. Assisted start-up companies - post seed capital stage - in their strategic development and funding needs. The company offered a full package to clients (assessment, analysis, valuation, strategic advice, funding strategy and company presentation towards investors)Specific areas of Responsibility:1) As CEO, I had the full responsibility for the company. Reported to the Board of Directors on progress against clearly defined objectives (strategy) 2) To make the start-up company ready for going to market. - together with the board of directors and a few selected staff.3) Establishing the company from scratch, developing the structure (internal and external) and all procedures as well as ensuring all legal compliance compliance rules were adhered to (MiFID, KyC etc.) Results: 1) Delivered a fully compliant, structured and revenue generating company back to the Board of Directors for their continued operation of the venture.

Kampala, Uganda

As part of my engagements through BECAN, I started the AfriChia Project in Uganda.The AfriChia Project is an initiative in Uganda with the hopes of combating issues of malnutrition in Africa through organically grown chia seeds, I founded this initiative in early 2016 just outside Kampala, The Project merged into the Godson Group in 2017 as our vision of changing livelihoods for small holder farmers matched 100 %. Since then the scope of the product range and our contracted farmers has increased drastically and the Godson Group is now active in Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Congo and Rwanda. As of 2019 I am still engaged in the Godson Group as Board Member.A key successfactor was to ensure that all processing was conducted inside the countries of operation to ensure that crops exported (which is approx. 90% of our produce) would be at the highest point of its agriculture value chain. As part of my engagement through BECAN, I joined the Agricultural Business Initiative (the aBi Group) - a joint venture between Denmark and Uganda as Interim COO. The Group consists of aBi Finance (a financial institution) and aBi Trust (a Grant giving and management facility) Responsible for Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Administration, Risk Management and M&E (Monitoring & Evaluation) as well as Sustainability monitoring and reporting.Specific areas of Responsibility:1) To deliver a complete turn-around of the two group companies following a series of malfunctions and corruption scandals in previous years.2) Responsible for and managing operational areas.3) Reporting to the Group CEO, the committees and the Board of Directors of the two companies and to the Danish Embassy in Kampala, Uganda.4) Conducting sustainability and risk assessment and reporting as well as impact measurement against the internal strategy and against benchmarks for SDG #2, 5, 12 and 15.5) Managing and organising financial and forensic audits and court cases against perpetrators.Results:1) Handed over 2 restructured companies to a new management team and received very positive feedback from stakeholders internally and externally.2) Strengthened the financial reporting process and ensured better programme, project and Grant management.3) Developed new procedures and systems for monitoring financial risk and funds committed monitoring.4) Developed new SOP's (manuals) for all critical operational areas incl. Strasbourg Area, France

As part of my engagements through BECAN, I assisted LANA in Strasbourg as Management Consultant. I Assisted the new owner (after a bankruptcy buy-out) in a complete turn around of the major paper production plant - LANA Papiers Speciaux - specialising in security paper. The assignment contains all aspects of Management Consulting - Finance, Personnel, ISO Certification, Supply Chain Management etc.At the end of the assignment, the turn around had been completed and the company started showing a profitable trajectory on its operation.

As combined CFO and CDO, I was responsible for all Finance, Operations and Business Development activities and Global license partnerships.Specific areas of Responsibility:1) For all operations in both Danish and Foreign companies associated the the Group.2) Reported to the Danish Company CEO as well as to the Global HQ CFO in the USA.3) Responsible for streamlining processes - especially around intellectual and billing systems for the Global Licensing Operation.Results:1) Secured a year over year growth of the Company engagements and partnerships and financial performance.2) Implemented a new ERP system.The whole ECKE Group (globally) was taken over by a Dutch Investment Fund on which I conducted a full due diligence together with the assigned Dutch team. Following the take over the Danish subsidiaries were closed down - operations moved to the Netherlands and all staff made redundant.
