Being a Project Assistant at Deanta provided me with ample opportunities to further develop my editorial and management skills.While here I copy-edited and proofread texts in numerous fields for Taylor & Francis and CRC Press. Covering both STEM and the humanities, I was exposed to varying editorial styles and authorial expectations while working on these books. As well as this, I was responsible for reviewing the work of freelance copy-editors and our typesetters.Co-ordination between our Chennai office, clients, and freelancers was integral to meeting deadlines and completing satisfactory works and I was able to meet this challenge by employing strict time-management and excellent communication with all involved parties

My time spent as an Intern with New Island Books proved to be invaluable with its offering of insights into both the marketing and editorial sectors of publishing.Being required to draft marketing strategies and timetables for upcoming books, and create social media content for current releases, I saw firsthand what was needed to keep books in the public eye and to ensure a social media presence for publications.As well as this, my editorial experiences, being the evaluation of New Island's open submissions and the proofreading of texts, provided me with opportunities to sharpen the skills I developed in my MA while also imparting knowledge of how to interpret what senior editors are looking for from texts.

My tenure as Managing Editor of ROPES saw me undertaking a management role in various aspects of the journal's production. Oversight was provided for each of the teams involved in the project but particular attention was devoted to editorial, design and production, social media, and finance.Being responsible such varying elements, I developed excellent time-management and problem-solving skills during this period of my life, and the experience of dealing with authors, team members, advertisers, and printers was invaluable.
