The British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch (BCLDB) is a branch of the provincial government responsible for the wholesale distribution and retail sale of alcoholic beverages, operating a mixed public-private retail model with over 4,600 employees.Growth in transactional volume and cost-saving mandates required a Warehouse Management System (WMS) replacement, representing huge organizational and operational change. Tasked with developing the project plan, team structure, and organizational readiness, I led a team of business analysts, developers, testers, change managers, and trainers to ready the new system for cutover, and the organization for its adoption and use. My contract concluded with the delivery of a robust technical roadmap and project execution plan, sequenced list of deliverables and milestones, and an optimized, cohesive project delivery team ready for execution.

Leading Growth Strategy at GetFresh Ventures, I was responsible for developing bespoke strategic solutions for portfolio clients while fostering trust, understanding, and knowledge. Commencing with financial posture analysis, growth target assessment and modelling current-state and future-state scenarios, I developed programs and execution roadmaps to support the transformation and scale across finance, marketing, sales and operations.

Factors Group of Companies specializes in the research and development, manufacturing, and distribution of high quality nutritional Supplements and Vitamins. It produces a wide variety of supplements for a variety of international markets. Notable brands include Natural Factors, Webber Naturals, PGX. Responsible for establishing the PMO and for its development into a department of change enablement, governance, and repeatable solutions delivery. I introduced and evangelized best practices, tools, resource insight, and execution processes for enterprise project delivery. I introduced structured project inception processes to capture, define, and track business value, and managed portfolio and project execution. I developed a cross functional team of Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Project Managers and Business Analysts, allowing the PMO to also function as a ‘business management office’, helping not only execute the solution, but in capturing requirements, translating vision into strategic execution, and in helping architect solutions. With a personal background in technology software and infrastructure delivery, I worked in lock-step with technology and business stakeholders to help guide infrastructure and application technology solutions to ensure alignment to business objectives and deliver value.

Vision Critical provides a cloud-based customer intelligence platform that allows companies to build engaged, secure communities of customers they can use for ongoing, real-time feedback and insight.The Business Management Office (BMO) provides Project Management, Business Analysis, Change Management, Vendor Management and Procurement services to the organization; responsible for running the ‘Business of IT’, and fundamental to the delivery of IT as a Service.As Senior Program Manager, I was responsible for the enterprise migration to a new ERP, managing a program of 20 large projects over a 16-month period. Working with senior executives and external consultants, I was accountable for all program changes, risks, and budgets, while guiding and mentoring project teams and managing the impact of change across the organization.

As Portfolio Manager, I enabled greater consistency in project delivery across the group by introducing lightweight project management tools and processes. I worked to guide the team towards project maturity by furthering methods of measuring results, directing and overseeing project teams, and managing shared resources. I developed portfolio reports within a mixed-methodology environment (Agile and Waterfall), presenting Scrum metrics (velocity, debt, cost per sprint) and Earned Value figures to senior management.

Inaugural Project Manager within the Global IT department, I implemented and evangelized best practices and fundamentals in project management, set goals, budgets, and introduced formalized processes for project execution. I directly managed all aspects of a new data center build as part of a corporate HQ relocation, including physical datacenter construction, and the migration of the technology infrastructure with zero downtime.

Worked with project stakeholders, software developers, and product managers to determine business requirements, scope work, and manage the implementation of bespoke software projects, including business reporting, data transformation, and application integration projects.

Long View is one of western Canada’s largest IT solutions and services companies, with a clear focus on combining business and technology solutions by way of project-based implementations.Responsible for the successful and timely delivery of technology solutions to clients spanning a diverse range of sectors. Managed greenfield infrastructure installations, expansions, and upgrades – including Cisco networking and telephony, VMware and Citrix virtualization, and NetApp and EMC storage solutions. Concurrently managed a portfolio of 10-15 smaller projects, each averaging 300 implementation hours, $50,000 in professional services, with a 2-3 month implementation timeframe.

Multimap.com was a United Kingdom based SaaS provider of mapping and location-based services. It was acquired by Microsoft in 2007 and merged into Bing Maps in 2010. Primary responsibilities were liaising with clients, staff engineers and product managers to implement new mapping platform features to meet the specific product requirements of the Asia-Pacific region. I travelled frequently within the region to provide technical coaching and pre-sales support.
