My senior year I volunteered as an assistant Laboratory Technician in the Microbiology and Genetics labs. I was responsible for the daily set up of student labs as well as occasionally acting as a teaching assistant. Pipetting was a commonly used skill as part of set up. I was responsible for culturing (using aseptic technique) and maintaining microorganisms, media preparation, and solution preparation. My duties included keeping the lab clean and organized including use of the autoclave. I am comfortable working in a lab setting.
