In collaboration with brilliant colleagues and amazing mentors, Brian has co-invented Designing Blended Experiences. Designing Blended Experiences is a novel Mixed Reality UX methodology that solves real-world human-centered problems by strategically designing between the transitions of digital spaces and physical places. Brian's research contributions to Designing Blended Experiences, have been awarded by the British Government’s Research Excellence Framework 2021 and received the highest honor “Four Stars: Quality that is world-leading in originality, significance, and rigour." His research has led to 12 inventions and patents, which are widely licensed to leading tech companies such as Adobe, Apple, Google, and Microsoft. Additionally, Brian has been awarded over $500,000 in New York State grants that push the state of the art when Designing Blended Experiences. Currently, Brian is leading Designing Blended Experiences research projects and creating internship opportunities in Edinburgh, UK, and New York, USA.
