Dr. Barbara-Jane Paris has been a teacher, principal, and director at every level of education from birth to college. As president of both the National Association of Secondary School Principals and the Texas Association of Secondary Principals, Dr. Paris has facilitated educator learning in more than forty states and multiple countries. A recognized advocate for school safety, Dr. Paris has testified before Congress, served on President Obama’s White House Panel, the Juvenile Justice Division, The Center for Disease Control, Department Health and Social Services, and the Office of National Drug Control. Dr. Paris has appeared in multiple media sources to include CNN Headline News, USA Today, and on national television. She is the recipient of the ASCD Leader of Learners Award, US Commanders Award for Public Service, the School Safety Advocacy Council Award and a resolution from both the Texas Senate and House of Representatives for her contribution to education. Throughout her career, Dr. Paris has been a contributor to all tenets of the learning landscape as a writer, speaker, accreditation evaluator, instructional leader, and board member of numerous organizations. More importantly, she has purposefully stayed connected and present in classrooms. Deeply experienced in helping organizations on their improvement journey, Dr. Paris believes that schools are living organisms, they are either growing or dying - there is no status quo.
