It was 2017 and I decided I fancied a career change. In Cambridge at the time, I applied to some PR agency internships in London, which was bold as I didn’t exactly know what PR was. But, turns out my eagerness to learn and get involved carried me through.After a couple of years, I wanted a taste of working in the clients’ environment, so I joined a content agency, gained some experience and then moved over to experience the corporate world with a stint at Edelman.It was at this point my life changed forever. After a battle with addiction, a spell in rehab and a lot of work on myself, I ended up back in London with a new outlook.I joined a small start up, helped build both clients and the team, and enjoyed being involved in crafting something. But I had more to give; I wanted to truly create something with what I’d learned in my time in the industry.And luckily, right when those thoughts were blooming, I met the incredible Sarah Wragg who asked me to partner with her to develop and grow her modest little business, Flaxley Hill. Together we’ve created something that, a couple of years on, quite frankly blows our minds.Today at Flaxley Hill 2.0 we have a roster of clients - from interesting agency groups and independent media and creative agencies to digital media owners - and are building (and growing) an awesome little PR agency that is founded on two mates coming together to do what they’re good at and getting to call it ‘work’.
