Gesher Group is the premier undergraduate business group at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Founded in 2013, Gesher provides its members with supplemental education and hands-on experience in a variety of business practices. Ultimately being promoted to a Project Manager, Gesher provided me a healthy variety of real business experiences that ranged from sales strategy - business development all the way to project management.

TasteM8 is an application that gives restaurants access to an interactive application where store owners or managers/ employees can create live promotions and deals in order to attract customers and directly influence factors that would affect customer traffic.Knowing the potential applications of the app I was able to create and implement a sales strategy with my team of five in hopes of introducing the app to a completely new market.

Working under the UCSC student business development group Gesher, I worked alongside the founder of Ventana in order to assist in the analysis and implementation of potential sales strategies. This involved collecting data from similar companies and deciding how certain strategies could benefit or stunt the development of the young company. Given the companies need for persistent and potent marketing, as well as its low budget for sales we pitched the idea of hiring student interns who would be paid off of commission. We figured students are familiar with /have access to many social media platforms, and most students would jump on an opportunity for a paid internship.

-Student intern working alongside managers of the UCSC Natural Reserve, on a continuous forest inventory project.-Job entailed the ecological and geographical analysis of many specific plots of land. -As a team we recorded data on species richness, the aspect/slope of the plots, and we measured the growth of significant vegetation. -Learned how to use and handle new equipment and tools.-Working with this team made me realize I had great organizational leadership skills.
