I have been a professional graphic designer since graduating the University of Iowa in 2005. For the last 15 years, I worked in the private labeling and promotional products industry creating everything from labels, packaging design, and branding, to a large variety of marketing assets, such as: social media graphics, videos, flyers and sell-sheets, trade show materials (including product samples and booths), and promotional goods. In addition, I managed the Amazon storefront for one of the company’s retail brands, created online templates for customers to customize their promotional products, and managed the parent company’s web content. From 2013-2019, I was the sole designer for our in-house promotional products distributor, where I excelled in external customer service by meeting our end user’s promotional product needs. In addition, I served as the creative point of contact for any miscellaneous company needs, including: recruitment materials and fillable documents for HR, flyers for company events, and production of all company videos. I was the leader of the graphics team across all of the company’s divisions, ensuring efficiency and accuracy while inspiring innovation. I mentored new team members to ensure they had the skills needed to exceed our company’s expected quality of work. I took the lead on many committee projects and initiatives. I was often the designated organizer in planning several of our annual parties and events, including our annual company holiday party hosting over 300 guests, and our “Rock the Dock” employee appreciation events. These types of events required contracting food vendors, hiring entertainment (have you ever received a live llama-gram?), and collaborating with other team members to create a fun and successful event.
