Ever since middle school I’ve found myself gravitating towards teaching people and helping them develop. Back then I would help my classmates out with homework, slipping into an unofficial tutor role. I turned that passion into a career, going into higher education in supervisory roles that have allowed me to teach and develop teams of young and aspiring professionals – college students.I led weekly staff meetings to provide ongoing training and information, presented at conferences and in large group settings (I actually love public speaking!), created online training courses, documented standard operating procedures to help my organization onboard new colleagues, and had tough developmental conversations with my supervisees. If I can be a part of anything that helps my colleagues and supervisees learn and grow, count me in!Amongst my current coworkers I'm best known for my ability to quickly and easily navigate policies and procedures, and for navigating all of our software programs with ease. I'm also known for my ability to provide support to others, while encouraging their personal and professional growth.I recently received a Certificate of Achievement for providing exceptional customer service to colleagues, students, and constituents of the university. I’ve also won a regional award called an Of The Month for notable contributions to my department when at St. Cloud State University; I was nominated by my staff. I presented on the application of change theory in supervision at a regional conference in my field, and was asked by my supervisors to present during a staff meeting with my colleagues. I worked on a committee to create and execute a recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding process for 180 employees, and enjoy working in teams to create effective and efficient processes.After about eight years working in the education environment helping aspiring professionals grow and develop, contributing to process creation, documenting standard operating procedures, assisting in the hiring and onboarding of my colleagues, and creating and carrying out employee trainings, I have realized that learning and development is the area I am most passionate about.
