Black AswadAswad means Dark or Black in Arabic. Think of it as "Black Knight”, “Dark Knight” or "Savior".2020-21 had a dreadful affect globally. My parents live overseas and were infected. There was no way for me to visit them and take care of them. When I would to talk to my father he would say, "Just pray for me". Those were the only words he had for me. When my mother got infected and I would talk to her, she would say, "Don’t worry everything will be alright, are you OK?" She would be worried about me! in her sickness! They are both healthy and strong.To top it off my mother-in-law got infected, thankfully we live close by. My wife became the hero my mother-in-law needed. She got her hero mask on, her gloves and her cape, and surely not to leave out the most important power… a cup of warm steaming coffee to energize and re-freshen! When she showed up at her mothers, her words were, "I am glad you came". Just having a loved one by your side can do wonders for one’s health! In a few days my mother-in-law was relieved of the disease.Looking at a larger picture, there are so many of us who are going through the same thing and/or more, I want to be here for those individuals - Health and Joy can be yours. And here at Black Aswad it comes in a fresh cup of Coffee!I also wanted to highlight and honor the people who are "Black Knights", in whatever form they are in, may it be the front liners, first responders, care givers.
