My educational background is in website creation and development, but since that field is so flooded I gravitated toward person to person promotions. I had the good fortune to be able to promote events I actually enjoyed and that came across in my ability to get people in the door using my enthusiasm and candor. Making my own schedule gave me the flexibility to give a lot of time to one of my favorite causes: Housing. I've done street outreach on my own, and then with organizations like Free Hot Soup, Fight Church and Northwest Housing Alternatives since 2002. In 2017 I applied to volunteer as a shelter monitor at the Annie Ross House in Milwaukie and they asked if I could be paid on-call staff. In 2019 I took a full-time position with them as an Engagement Specialist. In 2023 I took a job as a Case Manager with Up & Over (a culturally specific housing agency) I still throw underground events with a focus on Hip-Hip, Electronic Music, Cannabis and Racial Equity. I do a lot of promo for "The Den" and "The Get Down" in Portland.My Latest big promo job was Promotions, Registration, Exhibitor Services and Special Events for the Indo Expo Trade Shows in Portland, Denver, Oklahoma City, and Chicago. I have a video out on YouTube entitled "Last Night" that details the story of a protester radicalized by police violence in the wake of the 2020 Black Live Matter Struggle and one coming out shortly called "Compassion" which attempts to deliver solutions to problems surrounding police brutality.Specialties: Conflict resolution, Trauma informed care, Racial equity diversity and inclusion, Distribution of print media and utilization of social media networks, Person to person networking, Event planning and logistics, Interacting and engaging with people where they are.
