About Sigurt Bladt Dinesen
Through creative and challenging (and often strange) projects I have learned to work on problems for which no known solution exists, or where the problem itself is hard to define.Examples include projects using evolutionary algorithms to evolve chair-designs, or searching for movie-titles that a person might like, but wouldn't have found themselves.Founding - and working in - startups has taught me the value of delivering a product over perfecting it, and of working with customers and partners to learn what provides value for them. It has taught me that a diverse team is an absolute necessity for providing value to society at large. Learning joinery has taught me the importance not only of using the right tools, but of tools that empower the person using them. Not all problems are automation-friendly, and as software designers we should aim to create tools that that work with and for their users, not replace them.Teaching has taught me that everything is hard, until someone makes it easy.About myself I have learned that while software design requires quietness and concentration, I work best with an inspired and inspiring team. That I prefer to work on problems that have no text-book solutions.And that to do good work, we have to have fun with what we do.
