Open Source Consultant

Current

As an open source consultant, I've guided teams at large organizations, such as Credit Karma and Stripe, in contributing bug fixes and features to their upstream dependencies.A large project I've untaken was directing open source efforts of the Dark Forest video game to make it hospitable to third-party contributors. This also lead me to research, plan, and implement Dark Forest Lobbies, private instances of the game owned and controlled by a player.I'm currently working with the Iden3 organization to ensure supply chain security and best practices on SnarkJS, their open source Zero Knowledge toolkit.

Core Team - Infrastructure & Process

Current

Upon joining the Grain core team, I helped turn it from a hobby project into a programming language used by companies like Microsoft and NEAR. I put in place the tooling and processes required to have consistent, high-quality releases. Additionally, I built features that people expect in their production-ready tools, such as a documentation generator and packaged compiler binaries. One of my first projects was migrating the codebase to the ReasonML programming language to attract a wider audience of contributors.Though I had no previous experience with WebAssembly, creating a compiler, or designing a programming language, I've been able to grow into being very comfortable with these aspects required to work on Grain. In addition to my other responsibilities, I also use my previous experience and knowledge of Open Source Software to help the team navigate the space.
