Blair is an interdisciplinary research leader, educator, and creative with 10+ years of experience working across government, academia, and industry. Blair researches the governance of artificial intelligence (AI), with a focus on Canada's AI governance system and trans feminist perspectives on AI. She teaches courses on AI ethics and policy, advises organizations, and advocates for community-led AI governance systems. Her creative work combines speculative fiction, glitch art, and surrealism to explore trans perspectives of the future of AI.Blair is a PhD Candidate at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Information. Her research has been funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) with a Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship (2021-2024), and by three Ontario Graduate Scholarships (2019-2020, 2020-2021, & 2024-2025). She is a member of the Beta Phi Mu International Honor Society for Library and Information Studies, a four-time recipient of the Faculty of Information Excellence Award, and two-time recipient of the Norma Epstein Foundation Award in Creative Writing.
