Supply Technician, Courier, Accounts Payable, & Warehouse
CurrentStarted out working as a courier and in the warehouse. I would pull orders that came in from many ambulance headquarters and including fire stations throughout Tucson, Green Valley, and San Manuel areas. That also included delivered those orders these locations. Also did a lot of cross training in the warehouse department, such as inputting the warehouse orders in the computer system. I also did cross training in the duty office as a supply technician. Those duties include getting ems supplies and ambulances ready for the oncoming crews. Crews will come in and pick up ems bags and I would make sure that their bags are packed with radios, pagers, glucometer, pulse ox, map books, and stethoscopes. Depending on what kind of truck it is that day, we have BLS and ALS trucks. ALS truck will require me to go into the locked cabinets and take out drug boxes. I would have to make sure the medic is the one picking up the drug box and we both would have sign out the drug boxes for security reasons. This shift would usually be a 12hr shift and throughout the day, crews would come in for a switch out of ambulances or rescue trucks. Other duties required in the duty office would also require to make sure the area is cleaned and stocked with ems supplies. Crews will also come to switch out oxygen when we are also responsible for too as well. Another cross training I did was accounts payable and that was mostly computer work and paper work. It was my job to take care of the invoices that were coming in the mail or get mail from our main corporate office located in Scottsdale, AZ. So I currently work as a accounts payable and supply technician.
