I connect public art with people, place and ideas. Currently, I am directing the largest investment of public art in the agency’s history, centering the stories of local communities and the environmental mission of the agency ($20M and growing).I foster the next generation of environmental stewards through support for ecoliteracy and environmental education grants and programs ($4.4M and growing). The SFPUC is among the largest public utilities in California providing water to more than 2.7 million San Francisco Bay Area residents and municipal power and sewer services for the City and County of San Francisco.

Garden for the Environment connects individuals to gardens, farms and their food through hands-on educational experiences.Through diversified fundraising efforts I raised a quarter million annually from government contracts, private foundations, individuals and earned income strategies.Responsible for communicating organizational vision and program impact and I regularly spoke with the press, the public, foundation and government officers and representatives from our network of partners.I led a small team of extremely talented professionals and partnered with uniquely visionary Advisory Board members to deliver educational programs of exceptional quality. My work leading Garden for the Environment, San Francisco’s gardening school, was featured in the NY Times, LA Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Sunset Magazine, and on PBS’s ‘The Victory Garden’ and NPR’s The California Report. I have spoken at Eco-Farm, Taste3 and ACGA.

SF Victory Gardens was an urban agriculture project developed with artist Amy Franceschini and the City of San Francisco. The program began as a utopian proposal in the context of a museum exhibition and became a city-supported network of urban farmers that grew, distributed and supported home gardens, and educated through free workshops, exhibitions, web sites and demonstration gardens in highly visible public lands, culminating in the 2008 Victory Garden at City Hall in San Francisco. As Program Director I brought people and programming to this artwork. I managed the installation of residential victory gardens, managed contracts, billing and compliance, program development and implementation.
