Oversee the overall operation and maintenance of a 450,000 sq. ft. campus made up of approximately 12 buildings across 7 blocks in San Francisco’s Design District. Collaborate with other departments, academic leadership, and outside vendors in addition to dedicated facilities and operations staff to ensure a diverse variety of needs across campus are met. Continually assess operations for opportunities to enhance efficiency and customer service quality. Work with city officials and direct architects, engineers, and various contractors to develop and implement capital improvement projects. Manage project as well as all operating budgets for Facilities and Operations departments.

Redeveloped a former big-box retail store into 100,000 sq. ft. capable of supporting the company’s growing need for both office and R&D space, including working with local city government on development requirements. Built out the Facilities and Office Management teams, established processes for addressing ongoing facilities needs, and brought existing spaces up to fire and life safety code.

Managed cross-functional, operations-heavy projects for the college with a primary focus on new construction such as the 200-bed Blattner Hall student housing project and the 500-bed Founders Hall student housing and cafe project. I successfully moved residents in on time despite months of outstanding construction work and unforeseen supply chain challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic with my transparent communication of a given project’s status, close coordination between the college and respective construction team, and heavy field work with the general contractor and furniture suppliers for both buildings.

Built a team from the ground up and translated my big-picture idea of "perform music from anime and video games in a way everyone can enjoy (not only enthusiasts of the genre) and allow capable fans passionate about said music to lend their skills and talents" into an executable plan that resulted in Hideo – A Theatrical Concert of Music from Anime and Video Games premiering at Zellerbach Hall on the UC Berkeley campus in 2010. Hideo has since seen almost a dozen other stages in eight cities up and down the West Coast, we've produced a short comic, and we still do an annual music video for the holidays.

Oversaw the logistics and space needs for a team of 45 (and growing) software engineers, mechanical engineers, program managers, and technicians in a 16,000 sq. ft. hangar. Served as the single point of contact between the team and construction during the buildout of an additional 20,000 sq. ft. of office and shop space; ensured the team’s needs for the space were met, kept the team updated on construction progress, and worked closely with the general contractor on construction scheduling to minimize disruptions. Directed movers and the general contractor to seamlessly transition everyone into the new space upon completion.

Maintained 16,000 sq. ft. of multi-functional lab space for an engineering team of 15 working on cross-functional hardware and software projects with creative teams both internal and external to the company. Successfully drove projects to completion by documenting project needs and tracking their dependencies, running team standups to keep everyone on the same page and communicating, and being the single point of contact between the team and our stakeholders.

Working for companies such as TheatreWorks, the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, and Renegade Theatre Experiment, oversaw all duties involved in presenting an event such as equipment rental, delivery, setup, and troubleshooting; assisting cast members with costumes, makeup, and wireless microphone placement; supervising guests and other technicians; and informing sound and lighting board operators when to turn their respective equipment on/off on a cue-by-cue basis.Designed and manufactured props for stage productions such as astronomical plates from Harvard College Observatory using transparencies, replicas of Beethoven's music notebooks via booklet printing, and fake Japanese bento box dinners out of clay and sawdust.Assisted with the teardown and re-setup of the TheatreWorks properties shop and inventory during the company’s move from Menlo Park, CA to Newark, CA in 2012. Responsibilities included: cataloging and packing an inventory of 10,000 props; unpacking said inventory in the new 4,000 sqft site; after shelving was in place, restocking the warehouse such that inventory was organized by subject and easily accessible.

Worked remotely upon leaving the area to develop and implement a new technical documentation wiki for the facility.

Specified and maintained a list of all sound effects (audio assets) needed for the computer game "The Sims 3". Met frequently with sound designers to track audio asset progress via a Microsoft Access database. Used Autodesk Maya to sync final audio assets with game animations. Developed, directed, and tracked a new quality assurance (QA) process for testing audio, working closely with a team of four QA engineers via a shared Excel spreadsheet to exhaust all test cases. Worked with engineers, producers, and development directors to develop, publish, and maintain technical documentation.
