I served a diverse range of client populations from many different cultural and ability backgrounds, focusing on a person-centered approach. I learned how to tailor my therapeutic approach to my clients’ treatment plans while being both flexible and compassionate. I collaborated with clients and their support teams to build individual therapeutic relationships, behavioral plans, and goals that were customized to them. I also worked as a part of the program’s Wellness Team, supporting the clients with sex and relationship education and therapy. The experience I gained at my internship has prepared me for working with clients experiencing a wide spectrum of needs, including supporting them emotionally, behaviorally, physically, and relationally.I served clients in individual sessions along with holding open art studio group settings three days each week. I reorganized the physical space, creating a more enviting and conducive environment for creativity, mindfulness, and focus. I alsoorganized the computer file system to be more user friendly and co-rewrote the onboarding paperwork for therapy clients.

Social Justice Practicum program through Adler University - Planned, organized, and started up a new art program for participants and employees. The program is focused on community engagement and mindfulness based art making. After running successful sessions, the organization is feeling positive about the longevity of the project.
