Highly skilled and experienced audio engineer and instructor with over 25 years of music industry experience. Proficient in Pro Tools, audio engineering, editing, mixing, and music production. Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to develop and deliver effective lesson plans and course materials. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with evolving audio technologies and techniques.After graduating with honours from the Harris Institute for the Arts in 1997 I was hired at the acclaimed Sony Music Studio in Toronto Canada. Working with and learning from legendary engineer Lenny DeRose progressed into opportunities in freelance engineering. Through the founding of a production company, Audio Alchemy Inc. I worked with many prominent producers, artists and songwriters including: Jon Levine on Anjulie, In Essence, and Amanda Stott; Greig Nori on Sum-41; Jay Joyce on Chantal Kreviazuk; Stephan Moccio, Peter Cardinali, and Jay & James on B4-4; and Martin ‘Doc’ McKinney on Esthero, Res, Kelis, Alice Smith and Aloe Blacc, among others. Studio engineering led to audio engineering for film, both on set and in the studio, recording among others: Rufus Wainwright, Hawksley Workman, Little Jimmy Scott, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey with Marvin Hamlisch on piano. This created the opportunity to work with film studios including: Rhombus Media on Stormy Weather; Disney on 'Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen'; Paramount Pictures on 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days' with music producer Don Was; and Universal Studios on 'Undercover Brother', and 'Honey' with music producer Rodney Jerkins.My passion for music also developed into teaching music production and engineering along with Martin ‘Doc’ McKinney at The Audio Recording Academy, Toronto (TARA). Since 2010 I have also worked as an instructor at Metalworks Institute where I currently teach both music production and studio engineering workshops and labs. I also continue to guest lecture as well as advise and mentor artists, engineers and producers.
