Main duties include leading a small technical team of 4, technically managing the Retail accounts, supplier approval and ongoing maintenance of due diligence databases and conducting supplier audits and visits for both maintenance and approval. Implementation of Customer COP’s at supplier level and ensuring sites ongoing compliance to customer codes of practice and BRC.

Responsibilities include managing the Tesco, Co-Op and Aldi accounts in the UK. The main Technical contact to the Customers, liaising with the farms in Morocco and the European Quality Team in France to ensure all requirements and requests are dealt with and achieved in a timely manner. Supporting the Moroccan and UK Packhouse with the TPPS standard and other Customer audits. Trending and analysing quality KPI data. Updating Customer and Internal specifications as and when required.

Responsibilities included managing the Cherry and Winter Stonefruit account for both Tesco and Asda/IP, updating and revising specifications, attending weekly benchmarking and quality meetings, developing varietal calendars and reporting QSL. Ensure accurate and up to date Due Diligence is in place for all growers/exporters. Auditing and visiting current growers to both retailer and internal standards. Trending and analysing key data and generating improvement plans. Work closely with the Quality and Production teams at both 3rd party packing sites.

Managed the Top Fruit and Melon account for both Sainsburys and M&S, updating and revising specifications, attending regular benchmarking and quality sessions and achieving specific targets such as Plan A attributes and 20by20 data collection. Auditing and visiting current and potential new growers. Maintaining internal systems and trending key data. Work closely with seedhouses and growers in assessing trial varieties. Work closely with the Quality and Commercial teams. Provide support when necessary to other departments and group companies.

Brought in to provide support during the preparation for the sites 1st BRC audit. Updating and improving the QMS, review and revision of the HACCP study, completion of finished product specifications, supplier, services and raw material approval. Customers: Iceland, Waitrose and foodservice.

The site processed and cooked beef, turkey, chicken and pork for the major multiples. In my time with the company the site has successfully achieved PIU Green status with Tesco and retained A grade with BRC. Duties included coordination of BRC, Assured Produce, TFMS and external 3rd party Audits. Maintaining the HACCP, Customer specifications, managing the QA team, internal site audits and maintenance of the QMS. Customers: Tesco and Morrison’s.

The site manufactured Sour Pickles and Vinegars under the branded labels Hayward's and Sarsons as well as supplying major multiples with own label products. The role involved implementation of a paperless quality system on the factory floor as well as revision of the current site QMS to ensure that all Customer requirements as well as the new BRC standards were met, achieved and maintained. The site successfully obtained a Green PIU audit and retained the Grade A at BRC.

Oak Farm Foods supplied various Pub Chains, Restaurant Groups, Retail in store restaurants and Wholesalers with both branded and own label ready meals and sauces.
