On July 1, 2024, AP&P Supervisors were given the new title of AP&P Sergeant to conform more with the Law Enforcement family, I have seven field agents, a pre-sentence investigator, therapist and an two office specialist. We supervise approximately 400 offenders in Tooele County and provide them the tools necessary to become lawful productive members in the community. Caseload size averages in the mid 50's and all have a mixed caseload of male/female & probation/parole, I have three specialty caseload agents, two that supervises the Sex Offender/Child Abuse-Kidnap registry and Compact-In cases and the other supervises all the Drug Court and Residential Treatment cases.We work closely with the treatment providers in the area to insure the needs are being met and we enforce the orders of the courts and Board of Pardons. In July 2015, the Tooele office became a part of Region 3 (Salt Lake) and with this we added a Treatment Resource Center (TRC) here which brought us an on-site therapist. With the addition of the TRC it will provide us another tool in the Evidence Based Practices (EBP) to help those we supervise be successful. The Tooele AP&P office works closely with the Tooele Co. Attorneys, Tooele City PD, Tooele Co. SO, Grantsville PD and the Tooele Co. Major Crimes Task Force. We currently have agents assigned to the 3rd District Drug Court team, Major Crimes Task Force and various committee's in the county. In 2006 I was assigned as the Lead Firearms Instructor for Salt Lake AP&P Region 3 and it is my responsibility to insure all staff are trained and qualified on the weapons used by the department. In 2023 after 17 years as the Lead Firearms Instructor for Region 3, I decided it was time to allow others the opportunity to be the Lead Instructors, they have done an excellent job in taking over the reins. I am still a firearms instructor and currently a AR-15, Glock Handgun and Remington Shotgun Armorer.
