As an experienced science communicator, I am privileged to provide services across a broad range of fields and disciplines. I provide several key services, as well as other bespoke services based on client needs:• Research grant writing & development• Project management• Research• Report writing; and• Proofreading. I bring a wealth of experience across the entire spectrum of idea generation, concept development, background research, networking, stakeholder engagement, and the delivery of highly polished, audience-targeted packets of information of exceptionally high quality.Communicating complex science ideas to non-specialist audiences can be a difficult and daunting task, especially when you are so familiar with the technicality of your work. Regardless of whether you are trying to target funding bodies, the general public, the media or kids, I can help you to clearly and effectively communicate your ideas and concepts. Grant writing can be hugely time consuming and labour-intensive, detracting from the opportunities you have to actually do the work you love. I can give you this time back by developing, drafting critiquing and refining your funding applications. I can also proofread manuscripts and student theses, which is especially beneficial for supervisors of English as a foreign language students/staff. While videoconferencing technology is great, I am a firm believer in face-to-face communication. Regardless of where you are located, I will generally encourage this approach for initial discussions with you and your team members. This allows me to get a really good idea of your motivation and passion, and helps to direct my writing and word choice. At the end of the day, your work will always be just that -YOURS. Your grant applications are no different; they need to reflect you and be something that you are comfortable with and proud to submit. The services I provide draw on my broad, but complementary experience in scientific research, research grant administration, working within industry, writing for popular science magazines and substantial experience with public speaking and providing media interviews. As a result, I can approach/critique your work from a range of angles, ensuring you have a competitive edge.I also provide grant writing workshops. My services include:• Research grant writing/reviews• Grant writing workshops• Research• Report writing• ProofreadingPlease reach out for any of your grant or science communication needs, or visit blakechapmancomms.com for more information.
