Profile bio

About James Blake Chobanian

I graduated from ASU with degrees in physics and mathematics. I was trained as a scientist, and spent years learning to model and solve interesting questions about the physical world. I worked in labs deciphering the behavior of distant stars as a NASA intern and finding ways to grow nano-wires in the microscopy lab. I tutored math and physics to pay my way through college and later taught highschool math, physics, and engineering. I was voted most compassionate teacher by the student body in 2019. I ran an engineering club after school for 5 years taking teams to the state finals the last 2 years in a row. In my effort to be a better mentor to my engineering students, I learned how to program microcontrollers which sparked an interest in programming and data in general. I am passionate about uncovering the hidden patterns all around us. I also have a strong passion for leadership. I want to use the skills I have gained throughout my career to do something useful for my community that will allow me to not only practice new skills and encounter new challenges, but will also allow me to grow in new ways as a human being. It has always been my mission to help people understand each other and the world around them more deeply. What I find most appealing about the field of data science is how it can provide me with a wide variety of opportunities to use my analytical and interpersonal skills to bring people together and harmonize my community. email: blake.chobanian@gmail.comgithub: https://github.com/jchobanian
