Alan Blake Conley is in his eigthyear as the Director of Piano Studies at Howard W. Blake School of the Arts where he also teaches musical theatre, vocal technique and composition. He is also the Traditional Worship Leader and Choir Director at South Tampa Fellowship in Tampa, FL.Mr. Conley is an active music director and composer in the Tampa Bay area. His theatrical music direction credits include RENT, Bat Boy, Jane Eyre, Curtains, Urinetown, Company and The Wedding Singer among others. In 2013 he published a book titled Secrets Your Accompanist WANTS You To Know concerning musical theater auditions from the accompanists point of view. Currently, Mr. Conley is working on a one-act musical to debut in December of 2014. Mr. Conley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music education from Concordia College, Moorhead where he studied with René Clausen and was the recipient of the Paul J. Christiansen Choral Award. He was awarded a Masters of Music in Choral Conducting at the University of South Florida where he studied under Robert Summer and Richard Zielinski and served as the assistant conductor to the USF Chamber Singers. When he is not working on musical endeavors he enjoys building cars and entertaining conspiracy theories. He lives in Tampa, FL with his wife, Heather, their two children and a cat named Andre.
