Growing up in rural Ontario, I had no option other than to travel to get to post secondary. When in London at the Lawrence Kinlin School of Business (Fanshawe college) I studied and graduated from the Business/Insurance program with the goal of pursuing a career in risk management. After 5 days, I was hired to work at my first "real" job where I would progress to a RIBO licensed professional with a corner office. My education has assisted me in many of the jobs I’ve held since, even those not business related. I am hyper-aware of risks and very motivated to mediate them whenever possible, which is still very useful when problem solving & working with many individuals possessing a range of personalities. After several years in the insurance industry, and the lovely pandemic, I opted to change my career to construction where I had some experience from "odd jobs" as a teenager. After working in concrete I was provided the opportunity to fly to Alberta in order to work on a wind farm assembling Turbines. I was able to move up to a level II turbine tech in a relatively short amount of time, and have no intention of ceasing to strive for further improvement/promotions. I love the work that I do as a wind turbine tech, and I am eager to learn as much as I can about all aspects of the industry.Today, as an employee of TDI , I am working on learning how to impact the environment on a more basic level that not only looks brilliant, but is also an incredibly effecient way to keep a building insulated and cut back on wasted hydro/energy. Looking forward to a long and fruitful career with the largest supplier of insulated composite panels in North America - possibly the world. I am highly motivated, work well on my own, as well as part of a team, which are all requirements when performing the job of a turbine technician. Having worked on different crews performing a range of tasks, and volunteering to be part of the designated site rescue team, I feel I am well on my way to having a lasting & successful career in the flourishing renewable energy industry.
